Yarra goes live!

Just weeks after Zipporah reported a new win in the Australian City of Yarra, Zipporah is proud to announce that the authority has now gone live with their new Venue and Event Management System.

This live-to-the-public solution will allow the State of Victoria council to manage the bookings of almost 250 different venues, and empower the public to take responsibility for themselves – freeing up staff to conduct more fitting roles.  On top of this, the new solution automates and streamlines services.  This will result in much greater use of resources and in turn, will maximise value for the council and citizens alike.  Crucially, this solution will allow the public true 24/7 access to the authority, facilitating services such as the booking, managing and paying for services up-front – easy, modern and flexible working for all parties.

While Australia is a very forward-thinking country when it comes to embracing digital technologies, globally, the public sector has long been on the back-foot when it comes to implementing digital services and empowering the public to achieve greater self-governance.  By using the very latest technologies, Yarra’s new solution will improve the efficiency of the council; by delivering more effective and efficient services holistically.  In turn, this will transform the authority into an organisation with better services at lower costs – and both the authority and the public will benefit from this investment.

Jobe Bruzas, Marketing and Communications Manager at Zipporah commented:

“As demand for modern, transformational workplace technology continues to grow, now is the best possible time for Zipporah to accelerate their overseas businesses, and establish the organisation as a truly global force.

We’re thrilled to be working with such an inspirational team in Yarra, who have such ambitious and tenacious plans to lead the industry.  Generally speaking, Australia has a strong track-record in spearheading digital transformation in the local Government sector, but Yarra are an extremely strong example of this - demonstrated by their determination to aggressively press ahead and get their system online within just a few weeks.”

Zipporah believe in breaking down boundaries and empowering authorities and the public alike.  As consumers become more accustomed to conducting their business online, for example using their mobile phones - rather than face-to-face or over the telephone during lunch-breaks - it is vital that public service providers react and accommodate these trends.
